Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd started out as a couple of kids, wanting to play some great rock and roll. Now, over 40 years later, they have performed and recorded in epic proportions, producing countless time- tested albums. Beginning as The Noble Five, the boys went through several name and member changes. Lynyrd Skynyrd formed in 1970, and produced such hits as “Sweet Home Alabama,” Southern man,” “Mr. Saturday Night Special,” and the Southern Rock anthem, “Freebird.” In 1977, front man Ronnie van Zant was killed in a plane crash, and the band stayed out of the studio for 14 years. Plagued by tragedy, the band evolved through the years and has endured long enough to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. |
