The Very Small
Rock
|
Born and raised in the DC suburbs, the energetic trio ‘the Very Small’ bring a special blend of intelligent funk-rock with musically diverse blues undertones to the nation’s capital.
Inspired by everything from Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Pixies, from Foo Fighters to Sublime, and from Motown to Nintendo™, 'the Very Small' walk the line between simple rocking out and a thoughtful exploration of many musical genres.
In early 2008 they moved into a house together with producer James Yanisko, created a homegrown music studio, and began work on their debut album. Preferring a DIY approach, McHenry designed/produced the innovative packaging himself and the band screenprinted all the CD's/Merch/Flyers in their dining room.
After months of hard work holed up in the late summer/winter of 2008, 'the Very Small' finally finished their debut full-length album and released it at a 'standing room only' show in Asylum in Adam's Morgan D.C. that literally had lines out the door. Mixed and mastered entirely in their basement by Yanisko the album is already receiving rave reviews.
While ambitiously pursuing the DC and Baltimore scene, 'the Very Small' are in it for the love of music, the soul of the crowd, and to be a part of the greater music community in general. They would also like to open for GWAR and get eaten by the plant monster. |
